Islam Karimov starts official visit to Japan

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived on an official visit to Tokyo on 8 February on the invitation of the Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kan.

The relations between Uzbekistan and Japan are developing in the spirit of traditional friendship and mutual trust. This is proved by the constant expansion of the scale and directions of cooperation in accordance with the interests of the two countries.

The main events of the visit will take place on 9 February. During the talks at the highest level, issues of further strengthening of bilateral relations, as well as important regional and international problems will be considered. Signing of bilateral documents is expected on the results of the talks.
