Uzbekistan to host conference on habitation construction

Uzbekistan will host an international conference titled “Modern housing construction as a driving force of comprehensive development and transformation of rural areas, enhancing the living standards of population” on 16-17 April 2013.

            The conference is aimed at familiarizing and discussing programmes on accomplishment of population points and construction of individual houses on standard projects in rural areas as priority direction and important condition for cardinal transformation of rural areas, complex social-economic development of territories, as well as increasing employment and income of population.

 The conference will be attended by about 250 representatives of international organizations from over 50 countries.

 The conference will allow its participants to familiarize with achievements of Uzbekistan in development of economy, industry, agriculture, social, cultural and science sectors, as well as in small and private business, improvement of habitation conditions of population in rural areas, their employment, etc.

 The conference will discuss legal foundation and measures of state support of construction of habitation on standard projects in rural areas, terms, preferences and benefits of attracting foreign investments for construction of habitation and infrastructure objects in rural areas.

 The participants will also discuss modern construction of houses in rural areas to speed up development of construction sector and industrial production, development of services to improve prosperity of population, etc.

 The participants will visit houses on standard projects, which were constructed in rural areas, familiarize with social sector, development of small and private businesses in the regions of Uzbekistan, Jahon news agency reported. (Source: UzDaily.com)

On April 16-17, Uzbekistan will host an international conference entitled “Modern housing construction as a driving force of comprehensive development and transformation of rural areas, enhancing the living standards of population”. Organized at the initiative of President Islam Karimov, the conference is expected to be attended by around 300 distinguished academics, specialists and experts from nearly fifty countries of the world. Reporters of the UzA National Information Agency of Uzbekistan have interviewed some of the foreign guests.

Under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, diverse programs are being successfully implemented in Uzbekistan to further uplift the socio-economic conditions of the rural population. After all, these sorts of projects help perk up the appearance of provinces as much as play an important role in the steadfast development of agriculture and construction industry, as well as small business and private entrepreneurship in the periphery. The soft loans assigned by banks for the population to purchase homes built on modern architectural design is suggestive of the tremendous attention being paid and the evident care for the welfare of people being displayed by the leadership of Uzbekistan.  

This is my first trip to Uzbekistan, and your country has turned out to be more advanced and prosperous than I had imagined. I have enjoyed sightseeing in Tashkent, visiting in particular the museums and the Mustaqillik Square, and the impressions are awfully bright. I have been fascinated by the politeness of locals. Youths are everywhere, in museums as well, which led me to conclude that the Uzbek youth regard their history and the cultural heritage of their people with great reverence. As a specialist, I am very keen in observing the wide-ranging efforts being undertaken in Uzbekistan to reform the education sector. I would like to note that a tangible and thoroughly thought-out mechanism on this front has been shaped in this country, a system that deserves to be a model for the entire world. The reforms embarked on have proved effective and promising. Young people from Uzbekistan study at Malaysian universities, too. I look at them with amazement as to how they long for knowledge and always in search [of knowledge]; I admire their command of foreign languages. You should be proud of so talented a youth, a generation who spares no energy for the great future of Uzbekistan and who is seen as a decisive force in furthering the prosperity of the nation. Uzbekistan wields a rich history and looks to the great future.

The arrangement of such major international conferences in this very country, a nation of peace and harmony, is naturally determined.

To the international conference “Modern housing construction as a driving force of comprehensive development and transformation of rural areas, enhancing the living standards of population” scheduled in Uzbekistan I have come with a speech to outline social dimensions and practical experience in the implementation of goals pertinent to sustainable development. The project to bolster rural housing construction in Uzbekistan for 2012-2015 is one of appropriate steps undertaken in this country on the way to the further development of the social sphere. It is pleasant to find out that also the funds of international financial institutions are being drawn for the expansion of scales of this gracious endeavor. The leading enterprises of the industry continue with technological re-equipment

Bekabadcement has launched a new clinker production line.

The new technology involves the use of natural gas and coal, which allows maximum saving of raw materials and energy resources. In addition, with the automated control system there is a strict control at all stages of the production cycle - from raw material to manufacture unloading clinker is put in operation. The new line is capable of producing annually 750,000 tons of clinker. After reaching full capacity, the cement production will grow by 15%. As a result of the introduction of new equipment, more than 150 new jobs were created at the enterprise.

A particular attention was paid to the construction of the environmental component. For example, modern equipment was installed in shops, including oven and millstones with high effectiveness without sacrificing performance. For example, if three furnaces of the old line made up to 85-90 tons of clinker per hour, the new furnace - up to 105-110 tons. In the future, the plant plans to produce cinder blocks, paving stones and other building materials from cement.

Also, as part of an investment program, the enterprise continues to implement the project to upgrade carrying roller revolving furnaces and drives of slurry pumps of total cost of US$2.8m to be completed till 2014.

To note, the process of technological renovation going on other major cement plants of the country. Kuvasaycement plans to upgrade in 2014 electrostatic raw mills and to install modern batch-weighting feeders in cement mills, investing US$1.3m.(USD/UZS-2054.30). Qizilqumcement will introduce later this year the system of soft starter of raw mills, 1st and 2nd main pipelines. An interesting problem was set by Akhangarancement. The company plans to master the technology of complex use of unconventional materials - igneous rocks in the production of Portland cement, in the next two years. Meetings of the Spanish delegation

On 15 April a Spanish parliamentary delegation, led by Pedro Agramunt, a senator from Valencia, a member of parliamentary assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has had meetings at the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It was highlighted that agreements, reached during the meetings of the two heads of two states are important legal basis for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Spain, including in the inter-parliamentary ties, which play an important role in strengthening bilateral relations. The issues of further strengthening relations between the higher legislative bodies of the two countries were discussed.

The guests emphasized that Uzbekistan has a huge potential in tourism, in particular, with unique historical and cultural monuments, modern infrastructure, peace and stability. They commended the ongoing work in this country for tourism development.

- During the visit we have held negotiations at a number of ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan, and exchanged views on further development of cooperation between our countries - said Pedro Agramunt. - Both Uzbekistan and Spain have a great potential for cooperation in the tourism sector. We are interested in further development of the relationship with Uzbekistan in the areas of construction, design and infrastructure.

The members of the Spanish delegation also held meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.(Source: UzA)
